We had a great time at Unity in the Community on Saturday! What a fun cultural exchange!!!

We had guests from Somalia, Japan, Ukraine... and a stream of hundreds of kiddos and families stopping by Israel in Riverfront Park!

We taught the kids the history behind the Hanukkah story and the dreidle game 150 BCE in Jerusalem, as well as our favorite Hebrew word, "Shalom, Shalom!" The way we say Hello and Goodbye.

The Ukraine booth was excited to come get pictures with Israel, enthusiastically expressing that Ukraine stands with Israel and Israel w Ukraine! The Philippine booth was proud to remind Israel that their nation pushed the UN vote for Israel over the top. And was the only country that took in Jewish refugees from the Holocaust. They expressed pride in being a refuge and stronghold of support for Israel. It was quite touching.

For those who were interested, we shared that Israel is the ONLY Democracy from all across northern Africa all the way to India. It's the size of New Jersey. Israel is a TINY country, doing the best they can in a really rough neighborhood.
